What, indeed, is the point?*
This site is intended as satire. If you don’t know what that is, here is a link to a good online dictionary.
Any resemblance between persons, churches, or jurisdictions depicted on this site and persons, churches, or jurisdictions in real life may or may not be accidental.
I am currently, by the grace of God and the love and prayers of my Bishop BENJAMIN and priest John, a member in good standing of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, Diocese of the West, OCA. I am a regular confessant and communicant. I am trying to raise my children in the Orthodox faith as best as I know how. I am a tonsured reader, a singer in the choir, and sometime pruner of trees on the grounds.
If anything on this site leads you to believe that I do not love Orthodoxy, or the Orthodox hierarchs, clergy, monastics and faithful, or the most-holy Theotokos, or the other Saints, or the Sacraments, or our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, or the Father, or the Holy Spirit, either I miswrote (and I apologize), or you have misread.
In particular, I have nothing against ROCOR (or whatever they're called now!), and count many ROCORites among my friends, and often wish the OCA were more like the ROCOR in certain areas. Very often when Father Vasiliy speaks, he is speaking my own thoughts and feelings.
On the other hand, I do believe we Orthodox (myself included) tend to say and do many foolish things as Orthodox Christians, or in the name of Orthodoxy, or in the name of God. God laughs at the foolishness of men (Psalm 2:4); I think it is healthy for us to laugh at ourselves. As St. Clive of Magdalen(e) says, Satan fell because of “gravity” (i.e. he took himself too seriously).
And, so, The Onion Dome. A labour of love, a labour of laughter. Hope you enjoy it!

(No, I am NOT going to explain that. There isn’t room. The ambiguity has put on weight.)
